Effective February 1, 2010 all Northwest Airlines flights will become Delta Air Lines flights. Starting next week, you will begin to see updated invoices on Delta Air Lines packages that are affected by this change. In most cases it will be a carrier code change. We recommend that you review and verify all flight information and communicate with your customers accordingly.

Carnival Corp. and its cruise lines will donate at least 5 million to various international organizations (from the American Red Cross to UNICEF) to help with relief efforts in Haiti. The donation includes a direct corporate contribution along with funds raised through various campaigns coordinated by Carnival’s cruise brands.

    Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL), following up on measures announced by Royal Caribbean International President Adam Goldstein on Thursday, announced plans to provide at least 1 million in humanitarian relief to Haiti in response to the catastrophic earthquake in Port-Au-Prince. Royal Caribbean, one of Haiti’s largest foreign investors for almost 30 years, said it will be partnering with charitable organizations -- such as Food for the Poor, Pan American Development Foundation and the Solan.....

Continental Airlines matched Delta’s new higher fees for checked luggage (23 for the first bag and 32 for the second bag paid in advance online, or 25 and 34 paid at the airport).



American Airlines and its oneworld airline alliance partners British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Qantas Airways (an OSSN supplier member!) released a new proposal for 2 billion in commercial benefits to help Japan Airlines over the next three years, in return for JAL’s move from the Skyt.....

Last November, U.S. airlines posted record on-time arrival numbers, with 88.6 percent of flights arriving as scheduled. That’s the best performance since September 2002, according to federal regulators, and it eclipsed the 77.3 percent posted in November 2008. Hawaiian, United, and Southwest posted the best records, while Atlantic Southeast, AirTran, and Comair had the worst performances.

    he TSA       recently       put additional security measures in place. This will include increased pat-downs and gate screening, as well as having to stow carry-ons and personal items, including pillows.  During flight, passengers will be asked to follow flight crew instructions, such as stowing personal items, turning off electronic equipment and remaining seated during certain portions of the flight.
